Morning News Ratings: First Quarter 2007

“First quarter ratings reveal deep declines across the board for NBC’s Today,” CBS says in a Q1 press release today. “The Early Show grew its audience, while NBC and ABC lost viewers, compared to the same period last year.”

Today delivered 5,729,000 total viewers, its lowest first-quarter numbers in total viewers in 11 years (since 5,570,000 in 1996). In households and the 25-54 demo, Today had its lowest delivery since 1995.

Today’s ratings still nearly double The Early Show. The gap between NBC and ABC stood at 749,000 total viewers…

For the first quarter of 2007:

Total viewers: NBC: 5,729,000 / ABC: 4,980,000 / CBS: 2,962,000

Households: NBC: 4.4/15 / ABC: 3.9/13 / CBS: 2.3/8

25-54 demo: NBC: 2.3/15 / ABC: 1.8/12 / CBS: 1.0/7
