Midterms: Early Morning Cable

By Brian

At midnight, Shep Smith took over for Brit Hume on FNC. He anchored for two hours, until Brigitte Quinn and Gregg Jarrett started the late-night shift.

On CNN, Larry King started conducting interviews from a beautiful LA set at midnight while Wolf/Anderson/Lou held down the fort in NY. Shortly after 2am, Wolf handed the keys to Frederica Whitfield and Rick Sanchez in Atlanta. They anchored until 5am.

On MSNBC, Chris Matthews stayed up until 6am in Secaucus. At some point (3am? 4am?) Keith Olbermann went to bed. Imus started at 6am.
