My favorite moment of Today’s first half-hour came when Meredith Vieira greeted Al Roker at the anchor desk:
VIEIRA: I’m particularly fond of you because I had a hamster named Al growing up.
ROKER: Oh really?
VIEIRA: Big Al. He died, yes he did die.
ROKER: He went toes up! He’s in a coffee can in your backyard. Okay!
LAUER: I don’t know bout you, I got goosebumps.
ROKER: Hold on a second, let me go get my wheel…
