Megyn Kelly to Dick Cheney: ‘History Has Proven That You Got it Wrong’ in Iraq

By Merrill Knox

On “The Kelly File” Wednesday, Megyn Kelly confronted former vice president Dick Cheney about his role in the increased violence and instability in Iraq. Cheney and his daughter Liz penned a Wall Street Journal op-ed yesterday that blamed President Obama for the current situation in the region: “Rarely has a U.S. president been so wrong about so much at the expense of so many,” they write.

“Time and time again, history has proven that you got it wrong as well in Iraq, sir,” Kelly said. “You said there was no doubt Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. You said we would be greeted as liberators. You said the Iraq insurgency was in the last throes back in 2005. And you said that after our intervention, extremists would have to ‘rethink their strategy of jihad.’ Now, with almost a trillion dollars spent there, with 4500 American lives lost there, what do you say to those who say you were wrong about so much with the expense of so many?” Watch:
