Meet The Voice Of Fox News

By Brian

Have you ever wondered who records the Fox News voice over commercials? Julie Miller of Bolivar, OH did, and Bill Hemmer answered during his regular “Because You Asked” segment on Monday.

Greg O’Neill, the voice of Fox News, was heard on Fox News Live (but not seen, since he’s an off-camera announcer). He said his most frequently delivered line is “fair and balanced.”

O’Neill said he has been with FNC for five or six years. “I think when I started O’Reilly wasn’t a ‘No Spin Zone,’ it was kind of a loosely defined zone.” Click continued to read the full exchange…

HEMMER: His name is Greg O’Neill, the voice of Fox News. His voice is with us today, although he is not, live anyway. How are you? Welcome here.

O’NEILL: I’m well, Bill, and there’s a reason that I’m not with you. There’s a reason that I am an off camera announcer.

HEMMER: Greg, how do you get that voice to go that low?

O’NEILL: Actually, I picked this up at a Macy’s sale on voices.

HEMMER: What line do you deliver the most here on Fox?

O’NEILL: I think ‘fair and balanced.’ Most often. Even in my personal life. It’s, you know, ‘I’m going to have an argument tonight after Greta. Fair and balanced….’

HEMMER: Greg, how long have you been doing this for Fox?

O’NEILL: Probably five, six years. I think when I started O’Reilly wasn’t a ‘No Spin Zone,’ it was kind of a loosely defined zone.

HEMMER: It’s defined now, isn’t it?

O’NEILL: Yes, quite.
