Meet The Pianist In The Powder Blue Tux

By Brian

As you watched Connie Chung‘s performance of “Thanks for the memories,” I’m sure you wondered: “Who is the guy in the blue tux with the sweet mustache, pretending to play the piano?” Well this afternoon on The Most, Alison Stewart had the answer.

“We at MSNBC have known him for years,” she said: “He’s MSNBC’s producer Ricardo Canales.” Canales says his phone hasn’t stopped ringing. “My sister called me the other day and was like, ‘Why are you on The View?’ And I was like ‘The View? What am I doing on The View?’ And then it hit me, ‘oh yea, that.’ It was absolutely incredible, I had so much fun doing it.”

He says “the producers actually approached me and said ‘Hey, would you mind doing us a favor and helping out us with this taping with Connie Chung?’ I know Connie Chung, she is a great friend. She is a lot of fun and I was like hey, anything for Connie. And when it was an opportunity to help out Connie I said you know what, I’m going to do it. They did not tell me I was going to have to wear a powder blue suit though.”

But he says powder blue is his new favorite color…
