MediaBuzz Hits New High in January

The race for the White House has been very good to the cable networks: record debate ratings, big town hall events, a huge 10 million-viewer night for the Iowa Caucuses. Even the shows about the news are hitting it big.

FNC’s media criticism show MediaBuzz anchored by Howard Kurtz had its highest-rated month in total viewers since the show’s launch in September 2013. The program is up 18 percent in total viewers vs. 2015, averaging 1.2 million each Sunday morning at 11 a.m. ET.

“While we may be getting some gas from this high-octane campaign, we’ve also built a loyal audience that likes the way we cut through media hype and spin, including in interviews with the candidates themselves,” Kurtz tells TVNewser. “We’re constantly tearing things up right until airtime. And viewers can see that we have a lot of fun in the process.”

In January, Kurtz sat down for interviews with GOP candidates Donald Trump, Sen. Ted Cruz and Gov. Chris Christie.
