NBC’s Today show is going all in on “Red Nose Day,” a fundraising event supporting children and teens living in poverty.

Matt Lauer will bike approximately 225 miles from Boston to New York City to raise awareness and fundraising for the program. Lauer will depart from Boston’s Fenway Park on Sunday, May 17 and will end up at Rockefeller Plaza on Thursday, May 21.

The five-day journey will be documented on Today throughout the week. Viewers will also be introduced to children who will benefit from the funds raised by the epic bike ride. Lauer’s journey crosses four states and fans are encouraged to cheer him on using the hashtag #GoMattGo.

“Red Nose Day” is popular in the U.K. and has raised more than $1 billion since it started in 1988. NBC will also air a three-hour special to help raise additional funds for 12 poverty-fighting charities on May 21 at 8pmET. Will Ferrell, Jack Black, Christina Aguliera and Sam Smith are scheduled to appear.
