Matt Lauer Gets First Interview with Hero Pilot Updated

The 37% of you (the majority) who voted NBC/MSNBC would get the first interview with Chesley B. Sullenberger are right.

This afternoon, NBC News announced that Matt Lauer will sit down with Capt. Sullenberger Monday morning on the Today show.

The live interview will be Sullenberger’s first comments since he piloted USAirways flight 1549 into the Hudson River Thursday afternoon after the plane’s engines failed. The pilot will be joined by his wife and two children during the interview.

“Today” will broadcast live from Washington, DC Monday and Tuesday, ahead of the Inauguration.
