Mark Effron Promoted at TitanTV

Mark Effron, former VP of news at MSNBC has been promoted to president and COO of TitanTV. Effron joined the company in May as senior VP. The new media company produces original content and manages how it is searched, delivered and watched on the web.

In a press release, Effron saysk, “My background in news and broadcasting management and Jack’s unparalleled experience in media technology mesh well and make us ideal partners to help local broadcasters and producers of syndicated TV content find ways to monetize content in this new digital world.”

MARK EFFRON NAMED PRESIDENT AND COO OF TITANTV MEDIA

Will Head First Ever Broadband Media Network as well as Company’s Successful Legacy Business Products for Broadcasters

New York, NY, December 5, 2007 Mark Effron, currently Senior Vice President of TitanTV Media, has been promoted to the newly created position of President and COO, it was announced today by Jack Perry, Founder and CEO of TitanTV, a media company that is revolutionizing the way television content is searched, managed, delivered and watched on the Internet. In his new role, Effron will oversee the suite of company’s products including Media Star, Titan TV Guide and the Titan TV Network, the first of its kind digital media platform designed to connect local media and their advertisers to the digital world. Effron joined the company last May after four years as Vice President of Daytime Programming at MSNBC.

Reporting to Perry, Effron will be in charge of all operations including creation of original video programming, product development and affiliate sales. Perry will be freed up to focus on the company’s long range planning, continuing his role as creator of cutting edge technologies and products that serve the broadcast industry, which has been the hallmark of TitanTV Media since its inception in1996.

Mark Effron has been at the crossroads of television, technology and journalism for more than three decades. Prior to joining TitanTV Media, he was the vice president of daytime programming and breaking news at MSNBC, where he was responsible for attracting a younger demographic to cable news by creating programming and building news personalities more in tune with contemporary audiences. Prior to that, Effron was the vice president of news for Post-Newsweek Stations, the broadcasting division of The Washington Post Company, where he was responsible for creating and overseeing broadcasts that were the leaders in their markets. Earlier, Effron was a news director and a station manager in the Post-Newsweek chain.
