Maria & Todd: CNBC’s Stock Ownership Policy Comes Under Scrutiny Again

By Brian

“Look for increasing tension among staffers at CNBC who are forbidden from owning stock,” an e-mailer writes to TVNewser.

Years ago, Maria Bartiromo “raised eyebrows by disclosing on air that she personally owned Citi stock,” the NY Post notes. CNBC then tightened its rules about ownership. And now she’s been caught flying on Citi’s jet to China. “CNBC management defends it, but staffers are enraged,” the e-mailer says.

> A second e-mailer says: “This brings to light CNBC’s stock ownership policy for newsroom employees. It hasn’t been talked about much, maybe the network has dropped its guard, but everyone in the newsroom is talking about it again.”
