Mardi Gras: ABC, NBC, MSNBC

By Brian

Yesterday I posted the Mardi Gras coverage plans for CNN, CNBC, CBS and FNC. Now here are the rest:

NBC: Brian Williams “will return to New Orleans for the eighth time” to anchor NN on Monday and Tuesday. Among the reports: “Dateline NBC’s Hoda Kotb, a former New Orleans news anchor, and the Grand Marshall of Tuesday’s Argus parade, will report on the traditions and culture that make Mardi Gras what it is.” Katie Couric, fresh from Torino, will anchor Today from NOLA on Tuesday. Al Roker will report live from a Mardi Gras float.

MSNBC: “Will offer extensive coverage of Mardi Gras throughout the day and in primetime with correspondents reporting live from New Orleans,” NBC’s press release says. Unfortunately, the cable net isn’t sending an anchor to the Gulf Coast. If they wanted to differentiate themselves, they’d send an anchor to Mississippi for the entire week…

ABC: All of the network’s news programs will have anchors in New Orleans. Kate Snow will anchor GMA Weekend from the city on Sunday; Charlie Gibson will be there for Monday and Tuesday’s WNT and Tuesday’s GMA; Robin Roberts will be there on Monday and Tuesday; and Terry Moran will anchor Nightline from there on Monday and Tuesday. “Tuesday evening, he will report live from the main Mardi Gras parade site.”
