Man With Fake Pistol Makes His Way into TV News Studio

A Dutch man is in police custody after making his way into the TV news studio of Dutch national broadcaster NOS with what turned out to be a fake pistol. The 19-year-old man made his way into the facility demanding to make a statement during the country’s most-watched evening news broadcast. But, after he made his way inside, a security guard led him to an empty studio.

For nearly 5 minutes, the man paced back and forth in front of the anchor desk waiting to go on the air. Meanwhile, the newsroom was evacuated and the network cancelled that nightly newscast.

“This is taking too long,” the teenager could be heard saying at one point. A few moments later police storm the studio, demand he drop the gun, and take him into custody.
