Lucia Newman, CNN Senior Correspondent For Latin America, Leaving Network

CNN’s Lucia Newman, who has covered Latin America for over twenty years, is leaving the network.

Newman has headed up bureaus in Panama, Nicaragua, Chile, and Mexico. Perhaps most notably, she has served as CNN’s Havana bureau chief and correspondent since the bureau opened in 1997.

After a report on Lou Dobbs Tonight, the anchor said:

“Lucia Newman is leaving CNN, we could not allow her to depart us without paying our respects and to salute a great and skillful, talented, bright colleague with whom we’ve had the pleasure to work over the past two decades.

Lucia Newman, you’re a delight. We’re wishing you all the very best and we thank you,” Dobbs said…
