CNN has hired Leyla Santiago as a correspondent based in Mexico City, the network announced Tuesday.
“Leyla is an insightful communicator, as evidenced by her range of award winning journalism,” said CNN senior vice president for national news Terence Burke. “Leyla’s versatile skill set, and her appointment in Mexico City gives us the opportunity for strong and in-depth coverage across CNN’s platforms.”
Santiago joins CNN from WRAL in Raleigh, North Carolina, where she was an anchor and reporter. She was previously an anchor at KBAK/KBFX in Bakersfield, California.
