Lesley Stahl to Receive RTDNA Lifetime Achievement Award

By Chris Ariens

CBS News 60 Minutes correspondent Lesley Stahl will be the 58th recipient of the RTDNA’s Paul White lifetime achievement award.

The award is named for one of Stahl’s CBS predecessors, Paul White, who created the World News Roundup on CBS Radio in 1938, which is still the template for the standard news broadcast of today, with an anchor and field reporters. Stahl is the 24th CBS News person and the eighth member of 60 Minutes to win the award.

“Lesley Stahl has been a true leading light of broadcasting for more than 40 years,” said Amy Tardif, Chair of RTDNA, in a statement. “From Watergate to warplanes and from Gorbachev to Guantanamo Bay, her reporting has delivered the world to our doorsteps.”
