Les Moonves: Presidential Race Has Been ‘Good for CBS’

By Mark Joyella

The entire 2016 campaign has seemed at times not at all unlike CBS’ long-running reality show Survivor: back-stabbing, failed alliances, and crushing personal defeats. Jeb Bush, once a frontrunner before the rise of Donald Trump, even invoked Survivor in his exit from the race, referring to the candidates “still on the island.”

For CBS executive chairman and chief executive Les Moonves, the conventional wisdom-defying election season “may not be good for America, but it’s good for CBS,” he told The Hollywood Reporter.

Moonves called the presidential race a “circus,” but admitted he’d order a second season if he could. “Bring it on, Donald.”
