“Lee and I are thrilled about becoming parents,” Molly Palmer Cowan tells TVNewser, “and hope that years of crazy news hours have prepared us for the lack of sleep we are about to endure!”

Palmer Cowan, a Today producer, and husband Lee Cowan, a correspondent and substitute anchor for CBS Sunday Morning, are expecting a baby boy in late December.  This will be the first child for the Los Angeles-based couple.

The baby also will be the first grandchild for the families of each parent-to-be. Palmer Cowan is one of three daughters of journalist and writer Nancy Doyle Palmer and the late NBC newsman John Palmer, who passed away three years ago at the age of 77.

“Coming from a family of three girls, the Palmers are especially excited to welcome a baby boy into the mix,” says Palmer Cowan.  “There is no one who would have been happier about this little guy than my Dad, but we feel him with us every day and can’t wait to tell our son about his incredible grandfather.”

Lee and Molly Palmer Cowan met while both were working at NBC News, and were married in 2012.
