Lauren Ashburn’s Fox News contract will not be renewed, TVNewser has learned. Ashburn had a one-year deal with Fox News. She’s appeared weekly on Howard Kurtz’s “Media Buzz” since launch last fall, and has been a contributor on other Fox News shows.
When reached for comment a Fox News spokesperson confirms Ashburn is no longer under contract but said she may appear as a guest on the network from time to time.
Ashburn, the former managing editor of USA Today, is also the founder of the Daily Download. Kurtz often contributed to that site during his time as Washington bureau chief for the Daily Beast. At the time, Kurtz was also host of CNN’s “Reliable Sources,” where Ashburn was a frequent guest. Not long after Kurtz and Ashburn signed on with Fox News, Daily Download was shut down.
