Katrina: All Three Evening Newscasts Expand To An Hour

By Brian

Update: 2:17pm: This post has been re-written and re-timestamped.

All three evening newscasts are expanding to 60 minutes tonight. (On Thursday, NBC and CBS aired hour-long programs, but not ABC.)

The hour-long World News Tonight will be anchored by Bob Woodruff in New Orleans and Elizabeth Vargas in Gulfport.

The CBS Evening News will be anchored by Bob Schieffer in NY and John Roberts in New Orleans.

NBC Nightly News is also expanding. “In many markets around the country, the broadcast will once again be a full hour tonight, as NBC News devotes its reporting resources to a story that worsens by the day,” The Daily Nightly says.
