June #’s: CNN Up 38% In Primetime Demo

Compared to June 2006, CNN was up 38 percent in primetime in the 25-54 demographic last month, more than FNC or MSNBC. The net averaged 195,000 demo viewers in prime last June, compared to 270,000 this June.

The net’s numbers spiked in part due to the presidential debates on June 3 and 5, and Larry King‘s interview with Paris Hilton on June 27.

“CNN’s Democratic Primary Debate on Sunday, June 3 averaged 2.8 million total viewers — more viewers than any other presidential debate of this election season, and the highest P25-54 delivery for a Democratic primary debate in cable news history. CNN’s Republican Presidential Debate on June 5 was the highest-rated Republican debate of the 2008 election season in P25-54,” the network says in a release…
