July #’s: FNC Posts Declines In Primetime

July was Fox News Channel’s best month so far this year. But despite a ratings boost from the conflict in the Middle East, FNC was still off 1 percent in the demo and 6 percent in total viewers compared to July 2005. In addition, all of FNC’s primetime shows were down in P2+ and P25-54.

At 8pm, The O’Reilly Factor averaged 506,000 in the demo (down 6 percent) and 2,147,000 viewers (down 9 percent). At 9pm, Hannity & Colmes averaged 474,000 in the demo (down 9 percent) and 1,735,000 viewers (down 14 percent).

Greta Van Susteren‘s declines are particularly dramatic: At 10pm, On The Record averaged 416,000 in the demo (down 32 percent) and 1,443,000 viewers (down 33 percent). Last July, Greta rode a ratings wave that was propelled by the Natalee Holloway saga, Fox e-mailers note…
