Jon Stewart to Bill O’Reilly: ‘There is a selective outrage machine here at Fox.’

Jon Stewart and Bill O’Reilly went at it over the merits of controversial rapper Common being invited to the White House last week. During their interview last Friday, O’Reilly and Stewart also talked about the 2012 race. That part of the interview airs tonight.

As for Common, O’Reilly’s argument was this: the invitation was improper because of a song Common wrote 11-years ago about a fugitive convicted of murdering a state trooper in 1973.

Stewart’s argument to O’Reilly: “Bob Dylan wrote a song about a convicted killer named Hurricane Carter. He’s been to the White House. Why are you drawing the line at Common? There is a selective outrage machine here at Fox that pettifogs only when it suits the narrative that suits them.”
