John Stossel on “The View”

Fox Business Network’s John Stossel returned to ABC today for the first time since he left the network in September. And, not surprisingly, his appearance on “The View” got a little heated when Stossel and co-host, and HLN host, Joy Behar disagreed about the stimulus.

“John, it’s easy for people like us who are doing well to say people have to fail and people suffer. But you need a safety net in this country. This is not predepression years. People need unemployment and social security and health care,” argued Behar.

Speaking to Walters, Stossel said, “When we first met in 1982, unemployment was higher, it was 10.8%. Most of us don’t even remember that. Capitalism is a profit-and-loss system. You have to let the losses happen.”
