John Dickerson, a UVA Grad, Says: ‘Washington and Lee Aren’t Comparable At All’

By A.J. Katz

CBS Face The Nation moderator and chief Washington correspondent John Dickerson stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert yesterday to talk all things Charlottesville and Trump.

As Colbert points out, Dickerson is a Virginia native and UVA grad, so the events from last weekend hit especially close to home for him. As an avid student of history, the presidency and of course politics, Dickerson was also able to put Trump’s comments and behavior in a historical context.

Dickerson speaks about how Sen. Bob Corker’s criticism of Pres. Trump is a notable considering his longtime support of him, and later states that George Washington and Robert E. Lee “aren’t comparable at all.”
