Daily Intelligencer picked up on an uncomfortable exchange this morning during Meredith Vieira‘s interview with Sen. Hillary Clinton on the Today show. They have the video as well as the transcript, along with some brilliant commentary. While discussing Clinton’s foreign policy chops, Vieira brings up a trip Clinton took to Bosnia, and qualified it by namedropping a certain comedian:
Meredith Vieira: “But when you mention something like Bosnia people have responded, yeah, but she went to Bosnia, for example, with Sinbad.”
Hillary Clinton [Trying to act like this is not the most embarrassing thing that’s happened to her since Monica]: “That’s right, mmmm-mm.”

The 1995 trip Vieira was referring to included a flight that apparently had to perform a corkscrew landing to avoid snipers. Also aboard — Sinbad, Sheryl Crow and Chelsea Clinton. Maybe Sinbad was researching his role in First Kid.
