Jeff Zucker Is Taking Six-Week Leave for Elective Surgery to Address a Heart Condition

Some news about a high-profile TV newser: CNN Worldwide president Jeff Zucker told staffers this morning that he will be taking a six-week medical leave to have elective surgery meant to correct a heart condition he has dealt with for a decade.

CNN’s Brian Stelter tweeted out the news not long ago.

CNN U.S. evp of programming Michael Bass will handle things on the editorial side during Zucker’s absence, and his management team will pick up the rest.

Zucker has been the president of CNN since 2013, overseeing all of CNN’s businesses, including CNN U.S., CNN International, HLN, all of CNN’s digital properties and the company’s creative studio Great Big Story.
