Jane Skinner Interviews Hostage On FNC

FNC anchor Jane Skinner interviewed a hostage on Fox News Live just after 2pm.

The situation is playing out in Arcola, Illinois, “after a suspect in the shooting of a sheriff’s deputy holed up” inside a bank with two hostages.”

“I take it you’re in a safe place?,” Skinner asked bank manager Brad Pullen. “Uhh — not totally,” he said.

After asking a few questions and getting short answers, Skinner asked if the hostage-taker was nearby:

SKINNER: Is he asking you to talk to us live on television?

HOSTAGE: Yes. Umm, yes.

SKINNER: Is there a reason for that?

HOSTAGE: Um, I don’t know that there is.

SKINNER: Is there anything that you are comfortable telling us, that you would like us to know, not to put you or anybody else in jeopardy obviously?

HOSTAGE: Just that he has not harmed anyone.

Skinner repeatedly asked the bank manager to “tell me what you can answer and what you can’t answer.” After losing the cell phone connection, Skinner said: “you can tell how gingerly we are trying to handle that,” calling it a “sensitive and developing situation…”
