Amy Robach is back on MSNBC this afternoon, but an emailer wonders: “Did NBC make an official announcement that Robach was the new co-anchor of Weekend Today? I heard the announcer say her name, and she co-hosted with Peter Alexander while Lester Holt was on assignment.”
An NBC insider tells TVNewser several of those voice-over anchor announcements were recorded in advance, for fill-in anchors.
Weekend Today has been without a permanent co-anchor since July 22, when Campbell Brown left NBC for CNN.
