Imus Fired: Gregory Hosts Two Hour Report

By Brian

MSNBC is leaning heavily on David Gregory in its coverage of the Imus cancellation. Gregory hosted two live Hardballs on Wednesday, and the 7pm version re-aired at 10pm and 1am. Then from 7 to 9am this morning, instead of Imus, Gregory (a former regular on Imus) hosted a two-hour special about the controversy from D.C.

Gregory said: “I can tell you, this has been quite a few days here at NBC News. We’re a big part of this story, and we take no pleasure in that. And yet from our CEO Jeff Zucker to the president of the news division Steve Capus on down, we feel we’ve got to report this as a news story…”

> Was it a coincidence that MSNBC aired an ad for NBC’s “On the Set: Diversity in Television” program at 6am?…
