Category 4 Hurricane Dean continues to barrel through the Caribbean. At 10pmET FNC’s Marianne Silber reported from Jamaica, where the storm is expected to hit Sunday morning. CNN’s Karl Penhaul was live in Haiti.
CNN also added veteran hurricane correspondent Gary Tuchman to the mix. He’s heading to Cancun. And it’s been quite a week for Tuchman. As he writes in his blog, he’d been covering the Utah mine tragedy since the beginning, but was dispatched to Peru to cover the earthquake, only to find when he landed in Miami to catch his connecting flight to Lima, that the Utah story took tragic turn.
“My luggage is somewhere in Lima right now,” Tuchman writes, “but it is irrelevant to me as we contend with the terrible sadness in Peru and at Crandall Canyon.” Who knows what Tuchman will be contending with when (if) Dean slams into Cancun.
