ABC’s Robin Roberts didn’t dream of becoming a TV broadcaster. “My dream was to be a professional tennis player,” Roberts said last night as she was inducted into the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame.
“I am filled with such gratitude,” said Roberts. “I know that this honor was made possible because of the opportunities I was given.”
Roberts thanked those who gave her those opportunities, “at TV stations in my beloved home state of Mississippi, in Biloxi and Hattiesburg, in Nashville, Tennessee and Atlanta. And then, the worldwide leader in sports, ESPN.”
