ESPN’s resident NFL guru Adam Schefter has built quite the reputation for being the go-to guy when it comes to breaking football-related news, which is evident by his 4.41 million Twitter followers. But Schefter’s success didn’t come easy, and he got rejected so many times that he was thrilled to relocate across the country for a newspaper gig that paid $23,000 a year.
Schefter transitioned from print to television by volunteering at a local station, a decision that eventually landed him an on-air role at the NFL Network and paved the way for his current role at ESPN. It all started with a note his mom left on his bed, which he describes in “My First Big break.”
