Today show co-host Hoda Kotb surprised many of her Today show colleagues this morning when she called into the show and announced that she had adopted a baby girl.
Haley Joy Kotb was born on Valentine’s Day, and Kotb has been off the show and with her since. “She is the love of my life,” said an emotional Kotb, a first-time parent at 52.
Matt Lauer and Kathie Lee Gifford were in on the secret, but many others on set were not. “Do you know how hard it is to keep this secret?” said Kathie Lee Gifford.
“She is the luckiest girl on the planet,” said Lauer. “We thought you drank a lot of wine before, just wait,” added Carson Daly.
