Yesterday, TVNewser asked if former CBS Evening News EP Rome Hartman was getting a gig in Washington, perhaps as DC bureau chief.
A CBS News insider tells TVNewser: “There have been rumors circulating for months that Janet Leissner will be retiring soon along with EN senior producer Jim McGlinchy…. maybe now is the time.”
A second tipster notes that Hartman was the senior DC producer for the Evening News before moving to 60 Minutes. “He was WH producer before that [and] he was very effective at both,” the tipster writes. “Running the DC bureau would be a logical next step…”
