Hartman: “I’m Hugely Encouraged”

The CBS Evening News with Katie Couric “within the next week or two,” CBS research guru David Poltrack predicts. In today’s Philadelphia Inquirer, Gail Shister writes:

“Couric lost eyeballs on a night-by-night basis. Her Sept. 5 premiere drew 13.6 million viewers, followed by 10.3 million Wednesday, 9.5 million Thursday, and 7.4 million Friday.”

Of course, Rome Hartman isn’t worried. He says “I’m not panicked, I’m hugely encouraged. If anybody’s panicked, they need to go back to ratings school.We had millions more people, and millions of different people, watching the Evening News.” Here’s the rest…
