Fox News Taps NBC Vet as New Head of HR

Kevin Lord will join Fox News as the new head of Human Resources in the New Year.

Lord, who joins from TEGNA, will oversee HR for the TV and digital operations of FNC and FBN.

Lord has been with media behemoth Gannett, and later its spinoff TEGNA, since 2012. Before that, Lord was EVP of HR for NBC News and was instrumental in the ownership transition from GE to Comcast. Lord spent 10 years at different GE businesses before coming to NBC.

“Kevin is an extremely well-rounded executive who recognizes the essential role that Human Resources plays,” said Fox co-presidents Jack Abernethy and Bill Shine. “His long and impressive track record will be a valuable addition to our management team.”

“I have always admired the brand and look forward to building on its strong legacy as we attract, develop and retain the best employees in the industry,” added Lord. “I am also passionate about employee engagement and am eager to begin initiating strategic HR programs across all Fox News platforms.”

Lord’s hiring comes after last summer’s internal chaos at the network which saw former anchor Gretchen Carlson file a sexual harassment lawsuit against CEO Roger Ailes, an internal investigation into his actions, his resignation in July, and the departures of several others in management.

Current SVP of HR Denise Collins, who has been with Fox News since 2000, will now report to Lord.
