Fox News Makes Pitch to Land Final Democratic Debate

By Mark Joyella

Fox News, which set ratings records with Republican presidential debates, has so far been shut out of debates featuring the Democrats–but the network has not given up trying.

According to a report in The Washington Post, the network has once again appealed to the Democrats for a chance to host Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders in a debate ahead of the California primary.

“Democrats have not debated on Fox News for the last 12 years,” reads a letter sent today by Fox News to the Sanders campaign. “By ending that dry spell, perhaps the party can bring some sense of closure to this long and robust primary season. In the process, you and Secretary Clinton will reach a vast number of viewers–many of whom are certainly open to persuasion–just as we pivot to the general election.”
