Protestors associated with the “Occupy” movement are expected to protest outside the GOP debate airing tonight on Fox News… and Iowa authorities expect the protestors to disrupt the debate itself from inside the Sioux City Convention Center.
The Fox News debate is estimated to have around 1,500 attendees, and anyone willing to buy a ticket may attend. By comparison, Saturday night’s ABC debate had around 500 attendees, all of whom were pre-cleared by the state GOP.
Both local Iowa authorities and Fox News executives are expecting the protest outside the building (see more from the Sioux City Journal here) and are briefing security on what to do if (or more likely when) it happens inside the auditorium during the debate, according to someone familiar with the planning.
