Fox News correspondent Dominic Di-Natale has died, according to a story posted to the network’s website Thursday evening. He was 43. “We were extremely saddened to learn of Dominic’s passing and send our deepest condolences to his family and friends,” said a statement from a Fox News spokesperson. “He was an esteemed journalist and an integral part of our news coverage throughout the Middle East.”
Di-Natale had been working as a freelancer for Fox, until the end of November, when the network says he resigned. His last story aired on November 30.
An exact cause of death has not been released, but the Fox News report says it is being investigated as a suicide:
The coroner in Jefferson County, Colo., where Di-Natale owned property, said the veteran journalist took his own life. Officials discovered Di-Natale’s body Wednesday after being alerted by a friend who knew of his state of mind regarding undisclosed health issues.
Di-Natale’s most recent assignment was a Thanksgiving trip to Ferguson. His last tweet, from November 27, features a black-and-white picture of the Gateway Arch. He’d tweeted out several pictures, and said simply “last one.”
