Dylan Ratigan, who spent 20 years in TV news, is considering a run for a New York House Seat.
Ratigan says he’ll make an announcement Wednesday in Saranac Lake, in New York’s 21st Congressional district, in the far northern part of the state, including the 445-mile border with Canada. Ratigan was born there and his grandfather was mayor of the Adirondack Mountain town. The district is currently represented by Republican Elise Stefanik who was first elected in 2014.
Ratigan spent most of his early career at Bloomberg. He joined in 1995 and rose to global managaing editor, before departing for CNBC in 2003. There, he hosted Closing Bell and, later, co-created and hosted Fast Money. He left for MSNBC in 2009 where he remained until 2012.
In 2014, he shot a pilot for a CNN show, which did not get picked up.
I will be making a statement regarding a possible run for Congress in NY-21 at 12pm this Wednesday at the Mayor Frank Ratigan Bridge in Saranac Lake: https://t.co/5FTnWjcwkU
