Now we know where Saeed Ahmed landed after his short stint at BBC News.

Ahmed was named vice president of news for digital platforms at the Associated Press.

AP senior vice president and executive editor Julie Pace sent a memo to staff concerning the addition, saying in part, “In this senior leadership role, Saeed will lead our efforts to deepen engagement with audiences on APNews, social media, and other emerging digital platforms, with the goal of bringing AP’s world-class journalism to more people, in more modern ways.”

Ahmed left the BBC earlier this month after being there for less than four months. While at the BBC, he oversaw the company’s digital news content for U.S. audiences as the head of U.S. digital journalism for BBC News.

Before that, he was the digital news director at NPR and was the assistant managing editor at CNN Digital. His work has won numerous awards, including an Emmy, Webbys, and a Peabody.

In a LinkedIn posting, Ahmed revealed that he is also teaching an intro to journalism course at Georgetown University.

He will commute between New York and Washington, D.C., until the end of the school semester, after which he will transition to New York City full-time.
