FNC Reports 49% Operating Income Growth, Thanks Mostly To Higher Sub Rates

News Corp. reported a 6.2 percent profit increase for its latest quarter Wednesday, the AP reports.

The cable network programming unit reported third quarter operating income of $282 million — 34 percent growth, thanks in part to FNC.

Fox News “reported operating income growth of 49% compared to the third quarter a year ago primarily from increased affiliate rates driving affiliate revenue growth. During the quarter, viewership at FNC was nearly double its nearest competitor in primetime and was over 60% higher on a 24-hour basis reflecting FNC broadcasting the top six shows in cable news.”
