FNC At 10: Net “Believes In Itself & Has A Clear Sense Of What It’s About”

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram’s Robert Philpot writes:

It’s unlikely that you’d get a reaction like that from one of Fox News’ competitors, because those competitors — even CNN, which has been around 16 years longer — lack FNC’s sense of identity or purpose. All cable news outlets share a tendency toward sensationalism, and selective perception has a lot to do with viewer reactions to networks. That is, if you look for liberal or conservative bias, you’re going to find it.

But whether you believe Fox News is fair and balanced or a Republican tool, it comes off as a network that believes in itself and has a clear sense of what it’s about. No matter which way the political winds blow — and, for sure, it will be a gusty November — 10 years from now, it’ll still be around and growing strong. And still ticking people off.
