First-Ever U.S.-Style U.K. Political Debate Held Today

The first ever U.S.-style televised Prime Ministerial debates between the leaders of the three biggest political parties in the UK will air live on C-SPAN3, with highlights and analysis on BBC World News America later this evening.

Tonight’s match up, the first of three, will see Prime Minister Gordon Brown (Labour) face off with David Cameron (Conservative) and Nick Clegg (Liberal Democrat), with a focus during the first part on domestic issues. The debates will feature questions from studio audience members.

The debate will air live in the U.S. on C-SPAN3 — and around the world on BBC World News — beginning at 3:30pmET, with highlights tonight on BBC World News America at 7pmET on BBC America.
