FBN Ratings: Look Who’s Talking

By Chris Ariens

Another interesting aside to the FBN ratings stories is which TV beat reporters FBN spoke with, and which [one] they didn’t.

From The NYTimes story: “A spokeswoman for Fox Business, Irena Briganti, did not answer phone and e-mail messages Thursday seeking comment.”

FBN’s SVP, managing editor and anchor Neil Cavuto, meanwhile, spoke with the Chicago Tribune and the NY Daily News: “I don’t know that I’ve seen a baby written about so much while still in the carriage,” Cavuto told the Tribune’s Phil Rosenthal. Cavuto told the NY Daily News’ Richard Huff: “We’re just coming out of the gate. Going in, I had so low expectations.”

FBN’s EVP Kevin Magee also used the infancy analogy (and gave a sense of what’s ahead for the network) with The Washington Post’s Howard Kurtz: “We’re still a baby…We’re still looking at everything and tweaking as we go along. More important, it takes a while to change people’s viewing habits.”
