FBN Has Best Month Ever, for Third Month in a Row

By Chris Ariens

FBN had its most-watched month ever in February for Business Day (9:30a-5p).

CNBC still leads among the business news networks, but FBN narrowed the gap to -35 percent in viewers and -43 percent in the A25-54 demo, the closest the 8-year old network has ever been to CNBC. And earlier this week, on Wednesday, FBN topped CNBC during business day in the demo, averaging 41,000 viewers to CNBC’s 33,000. CNBC still drew the most total viewers (211,000 vs. 178,000).

February highlights included Stuart Varney’s Varney & Co delivering 172,000 total viewers and Neil Cavuto’s CAVUTO: Coast to Coast averaging 136,000. Since launching the new lineup last June, FBN’s Business Day has been seeing new highs for the past eight months. Lou Dobbs Tonight, which marks 5 years on FBN this month, scored back-to-back wins against CNBC’s 7 p.m. show, among total viewers.

FBN gained momentum late last year as it hosted its first GOP debate–which would be the most-watched show ever on FBN.
