Another split in the evenings as “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams” takes total viewers while ABC’s “World News Tonight with David Muir” wins in the A25-54 demo. Muir’s newscast was the only one to show growth: +2% in the demo compared to the same week last year. “Nightly” was down -10% in the demo while “CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley” was down less than -1% in the demo.
All three newscasts shed total viewership: NBC was down -2%, ABC down -1% and CBS down -5%.
With three World Series games and Thursday Night Football, overall evening news viewership was impacted last week. In fact, Thursday’s “CBS Evening News” is excluded from the average due to NFL football.
