Evening News Ratings: Week of March 19

For the first time in a long time, all three evening newscasts saw year-over-year growth, with ABC’s World News Tonight with David Muir up double digits in both total viewers and the A25-54 demo.

ABC won the week in total viewers, while NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt took back the A25-54 demo lead. NBC continues to lead year-to-date in the demo. Its 146,000 viewer advantage last week over ABC tops its 124,000 viewer year-to-date lead.

Compared to the same week last year, ABC was up +16 percent in viewers and up +19 percent in the demo; NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt was up +9 percent in both viewers and the demo. The CBS Evening News with Jeff Glor was up +9 percent in viewers and up +17 percent in the demo.

Due to the NCAA Tournament, CBS Evening News was retitled on Thursday and Friday. Those days are excluded from their average.
