27.2 million viewers watched one of the three evening newscasts last week as polar vortex part deux gripped much of the nation. All three broadcasts experienced double-digit growth among younger viewers from the week prior. All three also showed year-over-year growth which, last year, included Pres. Obama’s second inauguration.
“ABC World News with Diane Sawyer” had the most year-over-year growth, up +11% in viewers and up +13% in the demo. “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams,” which has been a consistent No. 1 for more than four years, was also up: +10% in viewers and +2% in the demo. “CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley” was up +9% in viewers and up +4% in the demo.
